Nick Vujicic and Novak Djokovic

Nicholas James Vujicic  born 4 December 1982 is an Australian evangelist and motivational speaker born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterised by the absence of all four limbs. As a child, he struggled mentally and emotionally as well as physically, but eventually came to terms with his disability and, at the age of seventeen, started his own non-profit organisation, Life Without Limbs. Vujicic presents motivational speeches worldwide, on life with a disability, hope and finding meaning in life. He also speaks about his belief that God can use any willing heart to do his work and that God is big enough to overcome any and all disabilities.

The eldest child of Serbian family, Vujicic was born in BrisbaneAustralia. He was limbless, missing both arms at shoulder level, as well as legs. Where human legs are located they are toeless except for two toes on one foot. Initially, his parents were devastated, though Vujicic was otherwise healthy.

    Dear students,
Thanks a lot for sharing this information about these two honorable men. I read about Nick some time ago and was going to tell my students about him. I am happy you have written this post for all of us to read. The story of Nick’s facing the challenge is really inspiring! So is Novak’s support. And look – they are both happy! Happy people help each other. Or: people who help each other are happy. That is what I am thinking about. 🙂

    Best wishes to you all,
Mrs Black, an English teacher at a distance school in Moscow, Russia.
